Update On Tye Dillinger’s Main Roster Status After Appearing At The 2017 Royal Rumble

One of the feel-good moments of this years Royal Rumble match was Tye Dillinger entering in the number 10 spot. This had been desired by fans for a while, due to Dillinger’s gimmick as the ‘Perfect 10’. He lasted for a few minutes in the Rumble before being eliminated by Braun Strowman.

Many fans were thrilled that after years of time spent in WWE’s developmental system, he was finally getting his chance on the WWE main roster. Or is he?

After the Royal Rumble, Dillinger didn’t appear on either RAW or Smackdown Live. This indicates to us that his call-up was only a one time thing.

To further the point, Dillinger appeared at the latest NXT taping for February. He was back involved in the storyline with SAnitY, who he was feuding with before the Royal Rumble. It looks like he will be remaining in NXT for at least the time being and the Royal Rumble was not an official call-up.

There are rumors circulating that WWE put Dillinger in the number 10 spot to avoid backlash from fans. It was a situation where almost any person that they would have put in that spot would have been booed.

Hopefully WWE was testing the waters at the Rumble and plan to bring him up to the main roster for good in the future. Seems like he could be a very serviceable talent on either RAW or Smackdown Live. Maybe after Wrestlemania?
