Update On What Vince McMahon’s Injury/ Surgery Is For

As noted prior, the WWE announced on Monday that Vince McMahon was injured while training and will require surgery. Their report says that the injury was undisclosed but it would only keep the WWE Chairman out of the office until Wednesday. We have a bit more information on what actually caused Vince McMahon’s injury.

According to reports from both PWInsider.com and Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon tore his quad while training and that is the reason why he needs surgery. It is being reported that the quad tear happened while doing weighted squats. If you recall, Vince McMahon tore both his quads back in the 2005 Royal Rumble while getting into the ring in one of the most bizarre moments in WWE history.

Many people have questioned why the WWE chose to announce this publicly when Vince isn’t ever seen on WWE TV. While I don’t know for sure, one can assume that the WWE didn’t want news of the injury to spread to their shareholders. Vince is 71 years old after all and if rumors start circulating that he suffered a random injury, rumors can spread. Better to get out ahead of the story and limit a potential stock drop.
