Vince McMahon Comments On A Potential Sale Of WWE

In the last couple of months we have seen a number of companies sell for some big money. Most recently, AT&T acquired Time Warner Inc. for a reported $85.4 billion dollars. On a level closer to WWE, the UFC recently sold for a reported $4 billion dollars.

WWE announced their 2016 third quarter earnings on Thursday. During a conference call with media members, Vince McMahon was asked about the various companies selling for big money and if he would consider selling WWE.

According to PWInsider.com who was on the conference call, Vince said that WWE would always consider any deals or offers made. He said that there is something about owning your own company and he is worried about the amount of control or influence he would have if he were to sell off a big chunk of the company.

He also says that if there was an offer that he couldn’t refuse, they would certainly consider it.

He was also asked if there was a merger deal out there that would still allow him to control WWE and run the day-to-day business, would he consider it? McMahon said that the WWE is ‘open for business’.

Interesting. Surprised that Vince is even willing to consider any offers. Vince is worth over a billion dollars right now and I doubt that he wants to sell for the money aspect.
