Vince McMahon On If He Regrets Any Wrestlemania Matches That Didn’t End Up Happening

Vince McMahon recently spoke with NOLA.com in order to promote Wrestlemania 34 returning to New Orleans, Louisiana. One of the highlights of the interview was when he was asked if there were any matches that he wished would have happened at Wrestlemania, but didn’t.

There have been plenty of dream matches in WWE history that didn’t come to fruition for Wrestlemania. Stone Cold vs Hulk Hogan and the Undertaker vs Sting immediate come to mind as examples. Does Vince regret any of these matches not taking place?

Here is what he said:

“I don’t think that way. There are matches that you make early on, but everything is subject to change in our business. From a creative standpoint, it’s subject to change when you see something better. If I take this piece and put it here, that would really help. As opposed to what we were advertising or even the way we were going.

He continued:

“You listen to the audience and if the audience is catching on to this or you think they may gravitate to that, that’s where you go. You have to lead. … I don’t even think that way in terms of ‘what if that would have happened?’ We just go do”

I guess Vince McMahon does listen to his audience, contrary to popular belief.
