On this weeks episode of Talking Smack, Daniel Bryan made headlines when he teased a potential return to the ring one day. After the Miz made some comments about Daniel not being able to be a wrestler anymore because of his head, Bryan responded by saying: “I can’t or they won’t let me? We’ll see in a year and a half and see what happens”.

This is something that had the wrestling world BUZZING. How much truth was there to Daniel’s comments? Is he really returning to the ring when his contract with WWE expires? Here is the latest news regarding his future.
Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), thinks that Bryan really is determined to wrestle again based upon his sources.
Bryan’s contract ends in 18 months. Meltzer lists CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling as places that he has expressed interest in the past about wrestling, things that he has never done before.
Bryan is about to become a dad (in April), which might give him a new perspective on his life. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next 18 months and if Bryan changes his mind about wrestling again. It certainly doesn’t seem like WWE will change their minds about him wrestling for them.

An interesting part is that Bryan’s contract was frozen when he retired last year. This is why he was originally not allowed to go to another company. Now that he has been back on WWE TV as Smackdown Live General Manager, his contract with WWE has become unfrozen.
This all makes Daniel’s comments on Talking Smack much more real than we originally thought.
