WWE Backlash takes place this Sunday! The event is headlined by a match between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. The show also features the main roster debut of Shinsuke Nakamura and a match between Kevin Owens and AJ Styles. Here is our WWE Backlash 2017 predictions – what we think will happen in each match!

Tye Dillinger Will Win

The match that will be kicking off Backlash will be Tye Dillinger vs Aiden English. These two have clashed for the past several weeks on Smackdown Live.

Hard to think of any other scenario than Dillinger winning in his first Pay-Per-View match since getting called up to the main roster.

We expect Dillinger to win and receive a fantastic ovation from the crowd in Chicago.

Erick Rowan Will Win

In the final match that was added to the Backlash card, Erick Rowan will take on his former Wyatt Family brother: Luke Harper.

Harper looked like he was in-store for a big push prior to Wrestlemania 33 but he has found himself falling back down the card.

The reason why I think Rowan will win at Backlash, is because WWE might be looking to push his new clown character. Rowan has been using this gimmick at live events over the past several weeks and it was finally seen on Talking Smack this week:

If WWE is going all in on Rowan’s new gimmick, expect him to win at Backlash.

Unfortunately for Harper, that means he loses another match. He really deserves a push.

‘The Welcoming Committee” Will Win The 6-Woman Tag

At Backlash, we will see a 6-Woman tag team match. Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Naomi will team up to take on ‘The Welcoming Committee’: Natalya, Carmella and Tamina.

There are a lot of scenarios that can happen in this match. Plenty of potential heel turns that might happen (looking at you Becky or Charlotte). One thing that I don’t think will happen, is Charlotte, Becky and Naomi winning.

We think that WWE will have Natalya, Carmella and Tamina pick up the win to cement the new faction as being legitimate. ‘The Welcoming Committee’ suggests to me that the faction won’t be together long-term but it could make for some interesting storylines over the next month or two. This would include one of the members getting a Women’s title shot, using the other 2 as back up.

We will have to wait and see but we don’t expect Charlotte, Naomi and Becky to win.
