WWE Backlash 2017 Review, Grades And Reaction

Luke Harper vs Erik Rowan

Prediction: Harper

Result: Harper wins via pinfall

Grade: D

Thoughts: Just…bland. Nothing important happened- the staus quo was maintained and it was the same match we’ve seen a million times.

Literally nothing else to say.

Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal- WWE Championship Match

Prediction: Orton

Result: Mahal wins via pinfall- New Champion Crowned

Grade: B

Thoughts: I honestly think this is one of the worst pieces of booking WWE in recent years. A man who has won less than 20 singles matches in his career has just one the most prestigious title in our industry. I’m not angry in a ‘Oh, I HATE that guy but what is he going to do???’ way like the Miz or someone like that; I have just lost interest in Smackdown Live partly.

Seriously- Jinder being champion makes me want to watch the show less. The match itself was better than expected- especially the destruction of the Singh Brothers but…I just don’t care. At all. But it’s just my opinion- others clearly like it/ he gets heat from some people in the right way. So I understand why it’s happening but…I just don’t care about Jinder Mahal.

  1. I feel like I wrote this list, especially that last entry about Jinder, because the match was /ok/ at best, but it’s just a shameless plug to the Indian consumers…. Why not foster interest with an Indian tournament like they did with the UK? And then get some really good guys in, guys with talent who can be molded to fit the WWE style much better than Jinder, stick them in NXT with guys like Roode and make something special? But nah, don’t hinder Jinder… Goddamn Singh brothers or whatever, I just don’t care about them. The RAW champ might not show up but at least he’s a draw.

    I hate wrestling sometimes.
