WWE Extreme Rules 2018 Predictions

The 2018 edition of the Extreme Rules PPV takes place on July 15th at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. Here are our WWE Extreme Rules 2018 predictions for what matches will happen at the event. Also, we have predicted the winners for these matches.

WWE Extreme Rules 2018 Predictions

19) Andrade Almas Will Win On The Kickoff Show

WWE announced late that Andrade Almas vs Sin Cara will be taking place on the Extreme Rules kickoff show. These two put on a fun match on Smackdown live this past week and I am assuming they will do it again on Sunday night.

I fully expect Almas to win as a way for him to gain some momentum.

18) SANITY Will Win On The Kickoff Show

SANITY will face the New Day in a tag team tables match at Extreme Rules. This will happen on the kickoff show.

I might be alone on this one but I feel like this match deserved a place on the main card of the show. I love both teams and I think the match will end up being a lot of fun (especially now that it is a tables match).

As for a winner, I think SANITY is going to win in their first PPV match. They have already been pinned so they need this win to look like credible threats in the tag team division moving forward (in my opinion at least).

17) The Iron Man Match Will Kick Off The Main Card

WWE announced that the match between Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules will be a 30-minute Iron Man match. This will be for the Intercontinental Championship.

I am going to predict that this match will kick off the main card of the show. WWE usually likes to open their cards with a hot match and I think this one fits the bill quite nicely. A 30-minute match involving two of the best wrestlers in WWE right now should be a lot of fun to start the show.

I expect this to be the opening match as a way to start off the show with a bang.

16) Dolph Ziggler Will Retain The Intercontinental Championship

As for the winner of Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins, I think that we are going to see Ziggler retain the Intercontinental Championship. There are a few reasons why I think this will happen:

1) It allows Seth to move up to the Universal Title picture over the next few months. Based on the year that he is having, I don’t think too many fans would complain about that.

2) I am digging the Ziggler-McIntyre pairing so far. I think they work well together and I am interested to see more Ziggler matches with McIntyre as his bodyguard/ tag team partner. Eventually, I am sure we will see Ziggler vs McIntyre too which could be fun.

3) With two returns looming (Jason Jordan and Dean Ambrose), I don’t think Seth needs to be near the Intercontinental Title. Plenty of stuff for him to do over the next several months.

15) Ziggler vs Rollins Will Be A Match Of The Year Contender

I think that after it is all said and done, Ziggler vs Rollins will end as a Match of the Year candidate. I really feel confident in Ziggler and Rollins tearing down the house.

Rollins is on an incredible run right now. Anytime he steps into the ring he seems to be delivering classic matches. He will be stepping inside of the ring with Dolph Ziggler who is extremely talented in his own right as a wrestler.

Not to mention that these two get 30-minutes to tell a great story. My hopes are high for this one. Barring a bad finish, I am guessing this one ends up as a Match of the Year candidate for 2018.
