Wade Keller of PW Torch first reported that Dean Ambrose would be leaving WWE after his contract expires in April (after Wrestlemania 35).
This came as a major surprise to many fans because Dean has been a staple of WWE television for several years now.
WWE issued a statement on these reports to various media outlets. Here is what they wrote:
“Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”
