WWE Issues Statement On The Rumors About Them Not Being Paid By Saudi Arabia

There have been plenty of rumors floating around since the WWE Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia. One of these rumors was that Vince McMahon and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia got into a disagreement during the event.

The rumor was that the disagreement was over WWE not being paid by Saudi Arabia for the last event (WWE Super Showdown). It also suggested that Vince cut the television feed of Crown Jewel (for viewers in Saudi Arabia) in protest of not being paid. This led to the Crown Prince allegedly grounding one of WWE’s planes, which caused the travel delay.

WWE has now issued a statement to Forbes about these rumors. Here is an excerpt from their report:

“WWE was reached for comment and swiftly denied these allegations, confirming to me its strong relationship with its partners in Saudi Arabia. WWE tells me the feed issues were entirely unrelated to any issues with payment.

They reinforced that mechanical issues were a cause of the flight delay and Atlas Air, the charter company, issued an apology in that regard as well.”
