WWE Live Results: Cape Girardeau, Missouri (January 6, 2018)

– Apollo Crew and Goldust vs Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel vs Heath Slater and Rhyno vs Anderson and Gallows. Really fun match, Bo Dallas is extremely entertaining. Heath and Rhyno picked up the win.

– Alicia Fox vs Asuka. Alicia Fox was very entertaining as always in this match. Asuka actually looked a little bit sloppy with her moves. She picked up the win.

– Bray Wyatt faced Matt Hardy. This match was decent, not great. Bray seems to really like interacting with the fans at house shows. He made it fun. Matt was totally doing his woken Matt Hardy character, and it didn’t get a ton of response from the crowd. Just a few people were chanting delete with him. He picked up the win with a weak side effect.

– Elias was out playing the guitar, he sang a special song tearing down Cape Girardeau. He then started singing freebird, which the crowd loved. He seemed way over. The crows at one point had the fireflies phone going when he was singing Freebird. Braun’s music hit. He came out, and was about to crush Elias, when Elias offered to let Braun sing a duet with him. Braun looked like he was going to do it, then power slammed Elias. Elias rolled out, walked back. Kane’s music hit. He came down, they fought outside of the ring, Kane got thrown into the steps. Braun then powerslammed Kane, and that non-match was finished. Braun got huge applause.

– Enzo came out to defend his title. Cedric Alexander came out. Enzo was a complete heel, trash talking the crowd, the college, etc. Fun match, Enzo didn’t look horrible here. Cedric is an amazing athlete, extremely athletic and talented. He got a good reaction from the crowd. Enzo ended up grabbing the ref, then turned around and thumbed Cedric in the eye and beat him with his straight leg drop down finisher.

– Next up was Sasha and Bayley vs Alexa and Nia Jax vs Mandy and Sonya (with Paige). Pretty fun match. Alexa yelling at the ref, yelling at the other competitors, throwing a fit. Funny stuff. Nia was dominating in the ring. She looks sloppy though, little careless looking in a couple spots. Sonya had a spot in the corner with Bayley where she kept striking her with her arm over and over. Very quick, stiff shots. It looked really awesome, I haven’t seen this on TV.

Bayley took the babyface beating most of the match. She finally got the hot tag to Sasha. Sasha came in and cleaned house. Bayley and Sasha with the win (Sasha with the bank statement).

– The main event was a big 3 on 3. Cesaro, Sheamus, and Samoa Joe vs Roman, Seth, and Jason Jordan. Jason got a lot of boos when he came out first. Seth and Roman got huge babyface reaction. Roman is over huge, especially with the ladies, but with the men as well. Fun match. Cesaro is amazing as a heel interacting with the crowd. He kept making the chicken gesture after he rolled out of the ring, showing the crowd that he wasn’t a chicken.

Cesaro is clearly just above about everyone in terms of athleticism. It’s amazing what he can do. He’s one of my favorites. Jason Jordan spent a lot of time laying on the floor outside the ring. Seth carried most of the match. He kept getting beat down by the heels. He eventually got the hot tag to Roman. Roman cleaned house, as he does. He eventually got the spear on Sheamus, and picked up the win for the good guys!

Overall, really fun show. I enjoy house shows much more than Raw or Smackdowns, as the talent really have fun interacting with the crowd.

Special notes: Roman Reigns and Braun got the biggest pop. Crowd was probably around 4000-5000. Probably 70% full. Everyone had a good time. Beers are $5.50 and the souvenir sodas are $6 in our small town area, so nice there as well.
