It appears as if the WWE locker room was kept in the dark about the shocking finish. PWInsider.com reports that a large majority (if not all) of the WWE roster was just as shocked as the fans by the finish as they had not been told what would happen.
This is not that uncommon. We previously have heard that the WWE locker room was kept in the dark of the Summerslam finish, where Lesnar busted open Randy Orton in that TKO finish. This led to Lesnar and Jericho getting into an altercation backstage because Y2J thought he legitimately hurt Orton.
Mick Foley tweeted after the event about the confusing in WWE’s locker room:
