The Great Khali returned to WWE in the Punjabi Prison match at the Battleground Pay-Per-View. Khali helped Jinder Mahal retain his WWE Championship against Randy Orton.

This looked at first like we could be seeing Khali join Jinder Mahal’s stable on Smackdown Live. It also looked like he could be facing Randy Orton at Summerslam based on the finish at Battleground. WWE even moved Khali to the ‘current superstars’ page of WWE.com after the event, adding to the speculation.
Two weeks of Smackdown Live have went by and the Great Khali has been nowhere to be seen. WWE has moved Khali back to the ‘alumni’ section of WWE.com, meaning that his appearance was a one-off. Here is Khali on the alumni section:
Khali is also not being advertised for any future WWE live events. It appears as if WWE really only used him to get out of the Orton vs Jinder feud.
