There was some buzz a few weeks ago that WWE had some interest in bringing back Rey Mysterio to the company. The report also noted that Mysterio was negotiating with both WWE and Global Force Wrestling (GFW) for his next contract.

According to a new report from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Rey will NOT be returning to the WWE. Here is the reason why.
The report says that WWE has passed on a Mysterio return after initially showing interest. The reason? Vince McMahon apparently has no interest in working with Rey’s representation: Konnan.
There is apparently some issues between Vince and Konnan stemming back a couple of decades. Vince invested money and time into Konnan’s ‘Max Moon’ character but things didn’t work out between the two sides. Konnan was apparently backstage at a recent episode of Smackdown Live to visit Chris Jericho. According to the report, this visit didn’t help mend the issues between him and Vince.
A bummer for fans that wanted to see Rey return. He would have been an incredible opponent for Neville for the Cruiserweight Title.
