Here is what we learned from NXT Takeover: 31.
1) The Performance Center Is Now Being Called The ‘Capitol Wrestling Center’
WWE debuted a new name and look for the Performance Center. It will now be called the ‘Capitol Wrestling Center’. The new name is a reference to the Capitol Wrestling Corporation that was founded by Jess McMahon and ran by Vince McMahon Sr.
Props to WWE as I definitely love the new venue.
2) Johnny Gargano And Damian Priest Put On A Really Good Opening Match
Takeover 31 was kicked off by the NXT North American Championship match between Johnny Gargano and Damian Priest.
This turned out to be a really good match and it was a really fun way to open the show.
3) Damian Priest Retained the NXT North American Championship
The opening match was eventually won by Damian Priest.
As a result, Priest is still the NXT North American Champion.
