Some fans were excited this week on Monday Night RAW because the ropes were not changed for the Cruiserweight division. The members of the division usually have the ropes changed to purple for their matches and segments. This past week on RAW, the ropes remained red for the two Cruiserweight matches of the night. This had fans thinking that this would be a permanent change.

Not so fast, on 205 Live this week, WWE went back to the purple ropes. Here is a photo:

There are some possible explanations for this. The first is that maybe someone in WWE made a mistake this week and forgot the purple tape for RAW. Or maybe WWE won’t be changing the ropes for the Cruiserweight’s on RAW anymore but will continue to change them over on 205 Live.
We will have to wait and see.

Yawn boring
Makes sense to keep it purple just for 205 live. They should keep it red for RAW.
I like that they kept Red for RAW. Changing to Purple on RAW felt so gimmicky and gave the match a feeling as if they were completely different world from the rest of RAW, which is partly true, but demolishing the visual cues might be a first step to partially bridge the gap. Let’s not forget the Cruiserweights are part of RAW, they existed before 205.
It was probably more for timing. It takes 5+ minutes either side of the match to re-do the ropes. Waste of time and the crowd goes dead having to watch the same videos they’ve been subjected to all evening.
