There was a rumor circulating a few weeks ago that WWE had some big interest in signing Ring Of Honor star: Dalton Castle. Castle’s contract was coming to an end and it was rumored that WWE would make a big offer to sign him.

It was noted that if ROH wanted to re-sign Castle, they would need to put together a great offer to do so.
It looks like that is the case as according to a new report from PWInsider, Castle is not going to WWE.
According to the report, Castle signed a new contract with Ring of Honor within the past several days and will be sticking around with the company.
Great news for fans of Ring of Honor. Not so great news for WWE fans that wanted to see him come to NXT or the WWE main roster.
Still no word yet on the status of Adam Cole, another big free agent that has been rumored to sign with WWE.

I believe WWE is simply looking to sign talent to a sliding scale, regardless of popularity. Problem is, they can make more than WWE/NXT scale and keep most of their merch profit on the undies working their dates.
I believe castle to be a pretty big star in WWE… Problem is, the entry way into WWE is not enticing enough financially. WWE is leaving some pretty prominent talent out because their deals are not as lucrative. Granted, if they get over in NXT and then on the main roster perhaps… But you’re still talking about significant timetable, trust and a big “IF”.
