One of the names that is constantly thrown around when discussing possible NXT call-ups is Women’s Champion: Asuka. She has compiled an impressive undefeated streak since joining WWE and is closing in on defeating the record of Goldberg.

Asuka has been added to several Smackdown Live events for March, leading to many rumors circulating that she could be getting called up to the blue brand in the near future.
PWInsider.com reportedly originally that Asuka would be wortking the WWE’s show at Madison Square Garden (March 12). She will be teaming with Tamina, Nikki Bella and Becky Lynch to take on Carmella, Natalya, Mickie James and Alexa Bliss.

According to WrestlingInc, Asuka has also been added to Smackdown live events the weekend before Wrestlemania (March 25-27).
This gives fans a hint that Asuka could be joining the Smackdown brand in the near future. It is unclear if this will happen before or after Wrestlemania 33 but fans should expect to see her soon.

Asuka has nothing more to prove in NXT. She has taken down any challenger so far and has looked incredibly strong. It is clear that WWE is building her up into a big deal when she does get called up. She still is the NXT Women’s Champion, which makes me feel like she will drop the belt at NXT Takeover: Orlando and officially make her way to Smackdown.
