Bayley won the RAW Women’s Championship on the February 13th episode of Monday Night RAW. Bayley defeated Charlotte to win the title after some help from Sasha Banks. It was a great moment for Bayley and her fans but some people felt like the moment should have been saved for a bigger stage.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Bayley was originally planned to win the RAW Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 33. The original idea was for her to win the title in a big moment at Wrestlemania.
After her big moment at Wrestlemania, she would have defended the title in her hometown of San Jose, California. This happens to be the location of the (RAW exclusive) Payback PPV event on April 30th.

WWE made the decision to scrap that plan and gave the title to Bayley earlier than planned. It is unclear right now why they chose to do so and what that means for Wrestlemania 33.
Could it have to do with Charlotte’s PPV undefeated streak and Vince wanting to keep it intact after Wrestlemania? Or does WWE have new plans for the Women’s division at Wrestlemania? The rumored plan is a fatal 4-way between Sasha, Charlotte, Bayley and Nia Jax but a lot can change in a month.

I wish they would have just had all the women on one show and all the tag teams on the other. Watching Bayley/Charlotte/Sasha/Jax wrestle one another every week for the past few months is beyond boring.
See now, after what we have seen the last few months, and especially after Monday night, I thought the plan was top have Sasha wrestle Stephanie at Mania, so if that isn’t happening, why involve Stephanie in this?
