One of the biggest rumors going around heading into NXT Takeover: San Antonio and the 2017 Royal Rumble surrounds the WWE UK Championship Tournament. There is some speculation going on that some of the top talent from the tournament (specifically Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate) could be making appearances this weekend.

It was originally reported by @PWStream, who tweeted that Dunne and Bate had been removed from their independent bookings over the weekend. The promotion that they were suppose to work for, tweeted that Dunne, Bate and fellow UK competitor Trent Seven have been taken off the card at the request of WWE.

Due to ‘WWE commitments’. Considering the show is Saturday night, this means that some of the talent will be featured either at NXT Takeover or at the Royal Rumble.
Our take: If I had to guess, WWE will be showing them in the crowd for NXT Takeover San Antonio like they have done for other stars coming into the company. A long-shot would be a match at the Royal Rumble for the UK Title, maybe on the kickoff show or something.
Interesting news at least. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
