Asuka Getting Called Up To The WWE Main Roster

Asuka has certainly made her mark in NXT so far. She is now the longest reigning NXT Women’s Champion of all-time. She also recently surpassed Goldberg’s undefeated streak.

It is clear that Asuka is ready to make the jump to the main roster of WWE. She would fit in nicely on either RAW or Smackdown Live.

The only question is, when will it happen?

There are some rumors circulating that Asuka could finally make the jump at Summerslam this year. Now, the rumors are far from concrete but it would certainly make a lot of sense.

Asuka will be defending her title against Nikki Cross on the June 28th episode of NXT in a Last Woman Standing match. Assuming that she wins that, she will likely have a big match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III (which is one night before Summerslam).

Some fans are speculating that she could drop the title to Ember Moon at Takeover: Brooklyn. It appears as if Ember is the next big thing in the NXT Women’s division and defeating Asuka would be pretty massive for her career (especially being the one to end the streak). Or, if WWE wants to keep Asuka undefeated, they can have her vacate the title before moving up.

Asuka has been a pillar of the NXT Women’s division for over a year now but it might be the right time to call her up. Ember Moon, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross are only a few of the talented Women that WWE can build up when Asuka leaves. Plus, there is an influx of talent coming in for the ‘Mae Young Classic’. Asuka has defeated everybody in NXT and it is time to bring her up.
