Why Braun Strowman Backed Away From The Undertaker On RAW

On the March 6th episode of Monday Night RAW, Braun Strowman came to the ring to call out Roman Reigns after what happened at Fastlane. Instead of Reigns, Strowman was interrupted by the Undertaker, who came to the ring and the two monsters stood face-to-face.

After their initial stare-down, Strowman nodded and proceeded to back away from the ring. This left many fans confused, isn’t Strowman always looking for a fight?

Here is the rumored reason

The rumored reason floating around why WWE had Strowman back away is that Vince McMahon wanted to tease a future match between the Undertaker and Braun Strowman. The two were rumored to face off at Wrestlemania 33 several months ago. Vince McMahon changed his mind and ultimately made the match between Reigns and the Undertaker instead.

Giving the Undertaker a nod was not Strowman running away from the fight, it was a sign of respect to the Deadman. It was also him acknowledging that their time to fight wasn’t right now but they will see each other again.

If you think about it, it makes sense because why else would WWE have Strowman come to the ring, just to back down to the Undertaker? If they wanted to set-up Reigns and the Undertaker, they could have done without having Strowman involved at all. If there is no eventual payoff for their stare down, it just makes Strowman seem like a chump.

Take all rumors with a grain of salt as always but certainly something to think about. Why do you think Strowman backed away from the Undertaker? Was it a tease of something to come or was it just WWE making Strowman look like a coward?
