On August 18th 2016, Eva Marie was suspended 30 days for violating the WWE wellness policy. It turns out that there might have been some big plans for Eva had her suspension not happened.
You might have heard of the reddit user ‘dvizzle’ who has a track record with reliable information on wrestling belts and their production. You also might have heard: ‘Belts by Dan’ referenced on the podcast: ‘Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard’ (same guy). He is respected in the belt-making community and recently posted some very interesting information about Eva Marie on reddit.
According to him, WWE had custom Championship side plates made for Eva Marie. This means that there might have been plans for her to win the Smackdown Women’s title prior to her wellness policy violation:
“They had side plates made for her when they first ordered the Women’s belt over a year ago (with several others). They are plain, red background with EVA in big black letters, and MARIE in smaller letters enclosed within a black box”
It was also brought up that WWE could have just ordered side plates for everybody just in case. Here was his response:
“They order in batches. Eva was part of the first batch so they had plans right from the start”
Certainly interesting if this is all true. Eva had been faking some unfortunate accidents on Smackdown Live that wouldn’t allow her to compete in her matches. Could this all have been leading to Eva with a title run? Just imagine the heat that she would have received.
