If you were to ask fans where they want to see Wrestlemania hosted, there is no question that somewhere in the United Kingdom would get some votes. The UK is home to some of the most passionate wrestling fans on the planet.
Due to various reasons, there has never been a Wrestlemania hosted in the United Kingdom. Actually, there has never been a Wrestlemania hosted outside of the United States or Canada.
It has always seemed like WWE has zero interest in coming over to the UK. The time difference is the biggest argument against it. The show would start early in the afternoon for fans in the United States rather than the usual evening.
We have a small glimmer of hope for fans in the UK.
According to a new report from Independent.co.uk, London is on the list of cities being considered to host Wrestlemania. This is based on a WWE issued survey to some of the attendees of this years Wrestlemania to gauge interest.
London successfully hosted Summerslam back in 1992 at Wembley Stadium.
Wrestlemania 34 is set for New Orleans but the 35th edition of the event is without a host city.
We will have to wait and see. Certainly a positive sign that London is at least being considered to host the event. If they don’t end up getting to host Wrestlemania, maybe the city could still host a ‘b’ level pay-per-view (like an Extreme Rules or a Payback)?
