WWE Rumors: The Length Of WWE PPV Events Moving Forward

You have likely heard the rumors about WWE potentially getting rid of the brand exclusive PPV events after Wrestlemania 34. This would mean that every PPV event will feature both RAW and Smackdown Live stars.

We have an update for you, thanks to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here).

This hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Meltzer says that the belief is PPV events will be extended once they become dual-branded.

Every PPV main card will likely be extended by an hour (which would bring it to 4-hours long). This would be in addition to a 1-hour kickoff show that features two matches. The typical brand exclusive PPV has a 3-hour main card. The bigger shows (Summerslam, Wrestlemania, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble) are 4-hours plus.

The reason for this is because they would have to fit the top stars and storylines of both brands onto one show.

As noted prior in our rumor mill article, this will likely lead to more Title matches on weekly television. This is because Titles will not always make the match card for the PPV’s.

Discussion: Are you for or against the idea of dual-branded PPV events?
