We are only a few months away from Wrestlemania 34. The event will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. WWE previously held Wrestlemania 30 in the same building.
It turns out that New Orleans wasn’t the original plan for the Wrestlemania 34 location.
Where was the event supposed to be held?
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the original location for Wrestlemania 34 was going to be Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
According to Johnson, New Orleans swooped in at the last moment with a great presentation for Wrestlemania. It will be held as a special event during the city’s tricentennial celebration.
Johnson thinks that this could give the New Jersey/New York area a leg up when it comes to Wrestlemania 35, but they haven’t heard anything specific yet.
