A few days ago, Paige posted a photo of the WWE Performance Center with the title: ‘“Went to see an old friend today. Good to be back there! @wwe #RoadBackToMyHouse”. This was indicating that Paige is close to returning to WWE television after being away for over a year following neck surgery.
Here are some more details on Paige’s return to WWE and the plans for her.
In WWE’s article about Paige training, it was mentioned that the Women of RAW and Smackdown Live need to be on notice. Paige was selected by RAW in the 2016 WWE Draft but hasn’t appeared due to injury. We noted that it looks like she is being promoted as a ‘free agent’ and isn’t necessarily going to be on RAW when she comes back.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), it looks like Paige has gotten full clearance and is just working to get back into ring shape.
Meltzer says there is talk that there is already a storyline in place for Paige upon her return.
He also says that the current plan is for her return storyline to be on Smackdown Live.
If this happens, it looks like the Smackdown Women’s division is getting a boost in the very near future. The exact date of Paige’s return is unknown but it looks like things are on the right track.
