Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match At Wrestlemania 33

You might have noticed over the past few weeks on Smackdown Live that there has been a lack of focus on their tag team division. This is the second week in a row that we didn’t see any storyline progression regarding the Smackdown tag team championship match at Wrestlemania 33.

American Alpha have had a very un-memorable run so far as champions (thanks to their booking). They did not defend their titles at the Royal Rumble PPV and have gotten very limited screen time over the past month. It just feels like WWE is putting the division on the back-burner.

Here is the latest

There are some rumors circulating that the Smackdown tag team titles could be on the chopping block. The card for the event is already looking stacked and there are only so many spaces available. If they are forced to cut back on a match, expect American Alpha to be on the top of the list.

We have seen a little bit of a storyline going between the Usos and American Alpha over the past month. WWE is likely keeping that match as an option for the Wrestlemania 33 kickoff show if they need it.

We will get the definitive answer on Smackdown Live this upcoming week. Would be a shame (in our opinions) that American Alpha and the Usos get left off the card.

Expect the Smackdown tag team titles to be either on the kickoff show for Wrestlemania 33 or cut all together.
