The Undertaker returned to RAW this week and announced his intentions of entering the 2017 Royal Rumble match. This automatically shot the Deadman to the top of the list of contenders to win the Rumble and go on to main event Wrestlemania.

There have been rumors over the past several months about the Undertaker finally facing John Cena, a match that fans have desired for years. There was also talk about the Undertaker facing off against AJ Styles in a match that would be billed as: ‘The Phenom vs the Phenomenal One’. It looks like WWE is going away from both of those potential matches.
We noted prior that there was some big changes made to the Wrestlemania 33 card over the past few weeks. Current rumors right now think those changes mean the Undertaker and his plans for Wrestlemania 33. During the Undertaker’s segment on RAW this week, WWE showed Braun Strowman watching very closely on a backstage tv. It was random, but is likely WWE trying to plant the seeds for a potential Undertaker vs Braun Strowman match.

No other point in showing him in that scene unless they were planning on paying it off later. We can assume that these two monsters will have some sort of interaction at the Royal Rumble which will set up their clash for Wrestlemania.

This will disappoint many fans who want to see the Undertaker vs John Cena. It looks like WWE will be going away from it for another year.
