The last 3 Summerslam events have taken place in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. For several years prior to Brooklyn, the event was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. WWE Summerslam 2018 location details.

It was initially thought that WWE might either go back to Los Angeles for the event or bring it to a new city. This is NOT the case as was announced by WWE.
WWE announced that Summerslam will be returning to Brooklyn in 2018:

In the interview with the New York Post, John Saboor (WWE’s executive vice president of special events) had this to say:
“Our partners in New York have worked tirelessly to help create the incremental growth of SummerSlam week through the presentation of not only our ticketed and fan events at the Barclays Center, but also through the community-based events taking place in the city’s five boroughs. We are very proud of that and the work that we have done.”
