10) Dominik’s Potential Match At Summerslam
According to journalist Tom Colohue, there are a couple of options on the table for Dominik’s debut match at Summerslam. The first option being discussed is Dominik and Rey Mysterio vs Seth Rollins and Murphy.
The second option being discussed is Dominik vs Seth Rollins in a singles match. Here is what Colohue wrote:
“The Mysterios vs. Rollins & Murphy feud is really up in the air at the minute. It is currently on the SummerSlam agenda to have Rey and Dominik Mysterio against Seth Rollins and Murphy. However, that really depends on if Rey Mysterio signs a new deal. It’s also possible that we could see Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins in a singles match, but that would be done as a way to convince Rey Mysterio, by saying that here, ‘we’re pushing your son’.”
My Take:
- Personally, I would rather them do a tag team match. This would help to protect Dominik so he doesn’t have to do all of the heavy lifting in the ring.
9) What Vince McMahon Wants To Do For Summerslam This Year
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, Vince McMahon is planning to do something “wacky” for Summerslam this year. He doesn’t want the show to just take place at the WWE Performance Center.
Here is what Alvarez said:
“I know Vince wants something wacky for SummerSlam. I know that’s probably the wrong word, but he doesn’t want it to be just another SummerSlam in an empty arena with fans wearing masks. He wants to do something different whatever that is.”
My Take:
- Summerslam is always one of the biggest shows of the year and I don’t see anything wrong with WWE trying something new.
8) Summerslam To Take Place On A Boat Or At A Beach?
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Tweeted that WWE is considering running Summerslam at an outdoor location. This would be similar to what the UFC has done with their ‘fight island’. Here is what Sapp wrote:
“WWE could possibly run outdoor locations for SummerSlam, according to some of the murmurs within the company. They should. UFC got a lot of buzz for a Fight Island that looked exactly like the rest of their shows. WWE could do something different.”
Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite also noted that WWE has had internal discussions about having the event on a boat or at a beach location.
My Take:
- This would be amazing if they could do it correctly and safely. It would definitely make the event seem more special and unique.
