According to a report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, we have some new details on the upcoming WWE Women’s tournament.
– It will begin sometime in the ‘third quarter’ of 2017. No specific date yet.
– There will be 32 competitors involved. This will be similar to the Cruiserweight Classic which also had 32 participants.
– Likely will begin filming episodes in July and likely at Full Sail University.
– The episodes will be released in sets on the WWE Network instead of one per week. Fans of Netflix will recognize this model when they upload the entire season of a television show at once. The sets in WWE’s case could be releasing the episodes by each tournament round.
– Will be a lot of focus on international talent like they did for the Cruiserweight Classic.
