AJ Styles was successfully able to defend his WWE World Championship at the TLC PPV against Dean Ambrose. In a shocking turn of events, Styles had some help from James Ellsworth, who pushed Ambrose off the ladder onto some tables. This allowed Styles to climb the ladder and win the match.

On Talking Smack after TLC, it was announced that James Ellsworth would be getting his WWE World Title shot this week on Smackdown Live. If you forgot, Ellsworth won a future shot at the title last week after he defeated Styles.
