Baron Corbin has proved heading into the Royal Rumble that he is going to be a big time player on Smackdown Live’s roster this year. Will Baron Corbin be the 2017 Royal Rumble winner?

Corbin proved that he can hang with the top dogs on the roster in the triple threat match for the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler and AJ Styles. Corbin lost the match but proved to fans that he belongs in the main event picture.

WWE officials seem very high on Corbin as he has rarely lost a match clean since making his main roster debut. I don’t think it is unrealistic to think that he could win the Rumble based on his booking, especially over the past several weeks.

Corbin announced on the January 3rd episode of Smackdown Live that he would be entering the Royal Rumble match. He told John Cena and AJ Styles that he didn’t care who was holding the WWE Title, he is coming for it.

Corbin already has experience with over the top rope matches, considering his win at the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 32. I fully expect Corbin to be a big time threat at this years Rumble with the chance of him winning and getting a big push. If Corbin doesn’t win, expect him to be booked like a monster with many eliminations and a lengthy time in the match.
