THE STRANGE CASE OF STING RETIRING AND WHY I THINK STING VS THE UNDERTAKER STILL COULD HAPPEN

There is something fishy going with Sting lately and I wanted to shed some light onto it. It was previously reported by TMZ, that Sting was retiring last week. A bit out of the blue but the report was that Sting was going to announce his retirement officially at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame. This made sense considering at Night of Champions against Seth Rollins it looked like he was really hurt at the end of the match.

This turned out to be incorrect though as Sting Addressed himself that he wasn’t retiring from the WWE. In a recent article with IGN, he said about the Sting retirement rumor: “that is one of those rumors floating around, yes. [laughs] TMZ put something out and, again, I still have a dream inside of me. And it’s not dead yet”. So it turns out Sting isn’t actually going to retire. In the same interview, he mentions that the match against the Undertaker is still a dream of his. He elaborated why it is a dream match for him, saying “Taker’s character and mine – there are so many similarities. I mean, they’re different, but there are also a lot of similarities”. Sting continued: “The mystique of both of us and all that. I just think that we could do some pretty cool stuff that would compliment each other. And it would be extremely entertaining. I’ve had these visions and these ideas in my head for a while. And, again, it’s a dream still“.

Could something be in the works for WrestleMania 32 between Sting and the Undertaker? The WWE has done their part to make it clear that Sting isn’t retired. They recently did an interview with Sting where he explained his injury in detail at Night of Champions and his role for WrestleMania 32 if he wasn’t wrestling. The WWE also asked fans to vote on whether or not Sting has competed in his last match:

Sting vs the Undertaker could happen. And due to the evidence that I have presented, something could happen at WrestleMania 32. Maybe Sting appears and helps out Shane, setting up a feud between the two of them??? Or Undertaker wins, Sting appears and teases this match at WrestleMania 33 next year in a double retirement match? Lots of possibilities. I think the WWE is making an effort to tell us that Sting isn’t injured, so the possibility stays alive!
