8) The Undertaker’s Streak Ending Prior To Brock Lesnar
There have been many rumors over the years about the Undertaker’s streak ending. These rumors have been around for much earlier than Brock Lesnar shocking the world at Wrestlemania 30 and breaking the streak.
There were some rumors that Randy Orton could have been the one to end the streak at Wrestlemania 21 with his ‘Legend Killer’ gimmick. This didn’t happen after Orton refused out of respect for the Undertaker. Similar rumors exist surrounding Kane being talked about to break the streak but refusing.
Also, according to Kurt Angle, the Undertaker wanted him to break the streak in 2006:
“I was champion in 2006 and Undertaker approached me and said he wanted to face me at WrestleMania. Until then, Undertaker didn’t have a WrestleMania moment with a five-star match. He thought he could have that with me, and he was considering possibly losing as long as he had that moment he wanted, and I don’t blame him”
How much different would the landscape of WWE had been if the Undertaker’s streak was broken years prior? Pretty crazy to think about when we look back at all the incredible matches that the Undertaker had with the streak on the line.
7) Chyna Winning The WWF Championship
In 1999, Chyna became the first female in WWE history to win a male title after she defeated Jeff Jarrett for the Intercontinental Championship. Were there also plans for Chyna to become WWF Champion at one point?
The answer is yes according to Chyna herself.
Chyna was a guest on the “Bell 2 Bell” podcast where she claimed that there were plans for her to become WWF Champion but her appearance in Playboy nixed those plans.
“Yes, there certainly was, it was actually in the pipeline and ready to happen, but when Playboy came along and wanted me to pose for them, I had to make a choice. Vince told me that if I did playboy, I could never be world champion. I’m a woman, I like to feel pretty and liberated, so I chose playboy and was never World Champion”.
Would certainly have been an interesting decision.
