5 (Female) Stars That Will Lead NXT Into The “New Era”

3.) Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross is a very interesting women wrestler in NXT, and I believe that is solely based on her current gimmick with being a part of the faction SAnitY. She plays that creepy, insane gimmick fairly well.

If you don’t believe me, please watch the sit-down interview from the 5/10/17 episode of NXT, it was honestly quite interesting and a little bit creepy at the same time.

Her in-ring style reminds me of a brawler, and she makes it believable that she wants to destroy everyone in her path, but methodically. I may get some flack for this comment, but I would be honestly surprised if she becomes the NXT Women’s Champion.

2.) Asuka

The current NXT Women’s Champion is nothing short of great in the ring. She has the strong style move-set that fans have gotten accustomed to with the recent wave of Japanese wrestlers (Kota Ibushi and Shinsuke Nakamura come to mind when mentioning this style), and makes her presence felt in the ring. Her limited English does not affect the aura that she brings to the table, as she is a dominant force in the ring and the women know not to mess around with her.

She has surpassed Goldberg’s undefeated streak (no matter how fabricated his streak was, it is still impressive), and has been the longest reigning NXT Women’s Champion, which are all accolades that she should be very proud of. With her recent heel turn, and the way she has been acting in matches, in a sense, she is a chicken s**t heel. For example: pushing the ref into the ropes causing Ember Moon to fall off the top turnbuckle and into the ring to retain her title, and attacking Ruby Riot, Nikki Cross, and Ember Moon when they were the final three in the #1 Contendership match, saying “No one is ready for Asuka.” I find her annoying as a heel, which hey, maybe it’s a good thing that I’m not a big fan of a heel, but there is no way you can take her in-ring ability away from her. She is that good and she is champion for a reason.

All good things come to an end at some point, even for the “Empress of Tomorrow.”
