Option #3 – Kevin Turns On Sami (Again)
With Kevin Owens, you never really know when he is going to stab you in the back. Sami Zayn knows that all to well. So does Chris Jericho after what happened at the Festival of Friendship earlier this year.
I could easily see WWE building this friendship back up on television just to have Kevin Owens rip it away from us again. Kevin Owens can simply not be trusted and it would be another demonstration of that.
After building their friendship and maybe even a tag team title reign, Owens turns on Sami like he always does.
As a result, fans would get back babyface Sami Zayn. We would also get to see a Wrestlemania 34 match between Sami and Owens.
Their chemistry is undeniable and there is no doubt in my mind that they could steal the show.
Option #4 – Sami Turns On Owens
On the other hand, what if Sami was actually the one who turns on Kevin this time? This would be payback for everything that Owens has done to Sami over the years.
Maybe this was even a long con planned by Sami in order to get back at Owens.
It would be a weird dynamic. Sami would technically be the heel in the situation for turning on his friend but he would also be justified from what has happened in the past between them. Owens on the other hand would have to feel the pain of somebody turning their back on him, instead of vice versa. Since he has done it so many times in the past, I am not sure if fans would be sympathetic towards him.
The end goal of this would be a match at Wrestlemania 34 between them like I mentioned in option #3.
This more applies to the long-term potential of this storyline but one of them turning on the other is certainly an option for WWE down the road. Just depends on who they would want to turn.
