According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), the next major independent wrestler expected to sign with WWE is Fred Yehi.
For those that don’t know Yehi, he is best known for his time in EVOLVE and Full Impact Pro Wrestling (FIP). He is currently the FIP World Heavyweight Champion.
Yehi lost to T.J Perkins in a Cruiserweight Classic Qualifying Match last year, so it appears as if he has been on WWE’s radar for a while now.
Will be interesting to see if he would be an NXT guy or someone that they would use for 205 Live and the Cruiserweight division.
