Rumor Roundup: WWE Makes Major Changes To The Wrestlemania 36 Card, Superstars Leaving, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) The Revival Continues To Hint At Their WWE Exit

PWInsider reports that The Revival has recently applied for some trademarks:

  • “Top Guys”
  • “Say Yeah”
  • “No Flips, Just Fists”.

The Revival’s contracts with WWE will expire before 2020 is over. This seems to be another hint that they are planning to leave the company.

My Take:

  • I definitely see The Revival heading to AEW. It would make the most sense and they would likely do really well. A feud between them and the Young Bucks would be fantastic.

4) Former Superstar Open To Returning To WWE

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Davey Boy Smith Jr. will be a free agent at the end of 2020. Smith is apparently open to a possible return to WWE.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Davey Boy Smith Jr. being a key part of the show will naturally lead to rumors of him and WWE. Right now he is under contract to MLW until the end of the year. Right now he only has signed with All Japan for the Champion Carnival tournament, but is hopeful it leads to a regular gig there. We’re told that after his MLW contract expires, he would be open to WWE or anywhere else. Jim Ross has always been a huge proponent of his, but Ross isn’t involved much in the talent signing aspects of AEW, but he’s still a voice people listen to. But Smith did work for New Japan at the same time as many of the AEW decision makers did.

My Take:

  • I could definitely see him returning to WWE as they will likely offer him a nice deal. I am not sure how much he would move the needle for the company though.
