AJ Styles Talks About His Past In TNA On The Stone Cold Podcast.

Much was made prior to the Stone Cold Podcast with AJ Styles if they would bring up TNA. Of course, AJ spent many years in the company prior to joining the WWE. The WWE usually doesn’t mention them by name because they are technically considered competition.
During the podcast, we got a lot of TNA talk. Styles specifically talks about how he first signed with the company. He also speaks about why he didn’t re-sign with them because they wanted him to take a pay-cut when he didn’t do anything wrong to warrant one. He placed a bet on himself and it clearly worked out. They also mention other TNA related topics like wrestling in the 6 sided ring and against Samoa Joe.
It was very refreshing that the WWE actually allowed them to talk about the company on their own network. This is usually a big no-no. I guess it just means the WWE doesn’t consider them competition.

The WWE have oddly enough even posted the highlights of AJ Styles talking about his TNA past on their Youtube channel. They don’t mention them by name in the video description but it is edited to clearly hear his thoughts on the company (that he does mention by name in the video):
