4) 2018 Royal Rumble
— Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
I think that the 2018 Royal Rumble match deserves some love as one of the best in WWE history.
This match was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the surprises and fun moments. This included the returns of Rey Mysterio and the Hurricane. I also enjoyed the NXT stars (Andrade Almas and Adam Cole) getting involved.
I thought that the final 6 was very well done. This was Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Roman Reigns, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, & John Cena. This was a good mixture of guys you really wanted to win and guys that you didn’t.
I also loved the result with Nakamura winning. All in all, it was a really fun match. It was definitely one of the best Royal Rumble matches in recent memory.
3) 2007 Royal Rumble
— Winner: The Undertaker
The 2007 Rumble will live on in WWE history as one of the best Royal Rumbles matches of all time. What it lacked in surprise entrants, it made up for in the ending.
Shawn Michaels would enter the match in the 24th spot and the Undertaker entered at lucky number 30. The two legends were the last men standing in the match, with only each other in the way of their chance of headlining Wrestlemania.
Two of the biggest names in WWE history were standing face to face and the crowd was absolutely loving it. Michaels and the Undertaker would go on to wrestle for almost 10 minutes, hitting each other with everything that they had and fighting off multiple elimination attempts. Their 10-minute mini-match was the best match of the night.
The Undertaker eventually was able to throw Michaels over the top rope, winning him the match. He became the first WWE star to win the Rumble match from the number 30 spot.
This turned out to be a small taste of the amazing chemistry that these two legends had with each other. They would go on to put on two of the greatest matches in Wrestlemania history against one another.
The Rumble match itself was decent, but the performances of ‘Taker and HBK shoot the 2007 Royal Rumble up our rankings.
