The Big Show Reveals The Original Plans For Him At Wrestlemania 24 And Why They Were Changed

The Big Show was recently a guest on WWE Film Room hosted by Michael Cole. During the interview, Big Show spoke in detail about his Wrestlemania 24 match against Floyd Mayweather.

This includes how the match came about and what the original plans were. Here are some of the highlights.

The Big Show says the idea for the match at Wrestlemania 24 came about a few weeks after their segment at No Way Out:

“I think this came about within a couple of weeks after that incident went down. Vince [McMahon] got together with Mayweather’s crew and they put together a plan and this is something that Mayweather wanted to do.”

The original plan was actually going to be a tag team match, with the Big Show teaming with Floyd. These plans were scrapped after two injuries happened:

“It’s funny, the original thing was supposed to be a tag. It was supposed to be, I think, Batista and Rey against Floyd and myself. Rey got hurt. Batista got hurt. And then, it manifested into ‘Giant vs. Boxer’.”

Your thoughts on the match looking back? Would you have preferred the tag team clash or did you enjoy Show vs Floyd?
