7) Roman Reigns Finally Turns Heel
I think 2017 is the year that Vince McMahon finally pulls the trigger on Roman Reigns as a heel.
It seems like wrestling fans have been having this discussion forever… Should WWE turn Roman Reigns heel? WWE reportedly sees Reigns as a Tweener type character, just like John Cena. They want him to have a mixed reaction where half the crowd boo’s him and the other half cheers.
The problem is that the company has a ton of potential with Reigns as a heel. If Vince wants Reigns to get cheered long-term, he is going to have to turn him heel. Fans have already made their minds up that they are going to dislike him.
Reigns needs to play into it, go full heel and start responding to the hate he receives. Push back at fans for the verbal abuse he has been receiving. After an awesome heel run, fans will be eventually won over by Reigns and they can push him as a babyface.
We have seen it work before in the past, including with Reigns’ cousin; The Rock. Sometimes a heel turn can launch your career into the stratosphere.
