Impact Wrestling Reportedly Filing For Multiple “Broken” Trademarks

It looks like the battle between Impact Wrestling and Matt Hardy is about to get even uglier. As many fans know both sides are fighting for ownership of the “Broken” gimmick that Matt used in the company over the past year.

There were some rumors that WWE was working out a deal to pay Impact to allow Matt to use the gimmick in WWE, but that doesn’t look like it is the case anymore.

According a report from PWInsider, Impact Wrestling has officially filed the paperwork to trademark several ‘Broken’ universe elements.

According to the report, these elements include:

  • “Broken Matt”
  • “Brother Nero”
  • “Vanguard1”
  • “Broken Brilliance”

5 matches for Jeff Hardy in WWE if he splits from Matt

Matt also reportedly filed for the trademark: “Broken Matt Hardy” a few months ago.

Looks like this is about to get ugly in court. It also seems like WWE fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see fully ‘Broken’ Matt on television.
