Chris Jericho had a rough night on Smackdown Live this week. He lost his WWE United States Championship to Kevin Owens, just days after he won the title at Payback. After the match he was viciously beat down by Owens and had to be helped to the back.
This was likely WWE’s way to write him off television for a while as he moves on to other projects.
Jericho’s band: Fozzy begins touring on May 5th. It is likely that WWE fans won’t be seeing Jericho for the next few months as he focuses on his band.
Jericho took to Social Media after Smackdown to thank the fans for their support and say goodbye. He also finished it off with #SeeYouAgain:
Jericho’s current run with the company has been incredible. He has been one of the most entertaining parts of WWE television over the past year and he will be sorely missed. Jericho seems to keep reinventing himself and he deserves a lot of praise.
