It was reported last week that former WWE star: Emma was asking for $2,000 per match, first class tickets and full creative control from the Stardom promotion. After this news dropped, there were some fans saying that these requests were ridiculous and she was asking too much.

Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), clarified the information on Emma’s asking price.
Meltzer says that the $2,000 number is only for shows outside of North America. In North America, the rate that is being quoted for Emma is $1,500 per show, round-trip airfare, hotel and ground transportation. Meltzer notes that on the indies, promoters are usually expected to provide hotels and ground transportation.
Meltzer says that it isn’t unusual for wrestlers to ask for higher numbers for shows outside of North America because of the travel.
Emma is also reportedly asking for a 50/50 split on autograph and picture money with her and the promotion. Also, 100% of the merchandise money she makes on her own and a 50% deposit ahead of time. Meltzer says this is the norm with many other wrestlers.
As for creative control, Meltzer says that she wants to approve her opponent and do her own finishes. On the indies, this is normal and any other big name wrestler is going to have that same request. The only issue in that regard has come from companies who do long-term storylines, who Meltzer says “balk” at that.
In other words, Emma’s requests appear to not be as unreasonable as many believed last week.
