WWE Firings That Happened After Crazy Incidents

4) Mr. Perfect

Fired For: Wrestling Brock Lesnar On A Plane Ride

Easily one of the wildest stories that has led to someones firing in WWE is ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig. Hennig was a part of the infamous ‘Plane Ride From Hell’ that has been heavily publicized.

There is a long-standing rumor that Hennig and Brock Lesnar got into a wrestling match on the plane. This led to the emergency exit of the plane almost getting forced open.

Here is an excerpt from pro wrestling reporter: Mike Mooneyham in 2002:

“Curt Hennig and rookie Brock Lesnar also tussled on board the plane after arguing over who was the better “shooter.” Sources say Hennig, an infamous ribber, had been spraying shaving cream into the hair of Big Show and others, and goaded Lesnar into a collar-and-elbow test of strength. Paul Heyman and Hunter Hearst Helmsley both attempted to break up the inappropriate sparring session, and at one point Triple H reportedly was thrown into an emergency door on the plane”

There are a ton more tales about that plane ride and this tussle is one of the most famous. Hennig was fired shortly by WWE after the incident.

3) Daniel Bryan

Fired For: Choking Out Justin Roberts

You might remember when the Nexus invaded RAW on July 7th, 2011. The group attacked John Cena and others at ringside. This included ring announcer: Justin Roberts.

Bryan was seen strangling Roberts with his own tie. He also spit in Cena’s face during the segment. He was fired a few days later by WWE. Bryan has said in the past that WWE fired him in order to avoid incident with their sponsors.

On his old blog, Daniel addressed his firing:

“WWE is very serious about adhering to their PG guidelines, and apparently my actions during the NXT attack on John Cena, namely choking announcer Justin Roberts with his tie and spitting in Cena’s face, crossed the boundaries of what is considered “PG.” Perhaps the choking was too violent or perhaps the spit was too demeaning. I apologized for both immediately following the incident; but I would be a hypocrite if I apologized for putting everything I have into the attack. I would much rather have gone too far than to come up too short”

Bryan returned to WWE a year later and the rest is history.
