Elimination Chamber 2017 Results and Reaction – Grading Each Match

Luke Harper vs Randy Orton

Result: Randy Orton wins via pinfall after hitting the RKO

Grade: A-

Thoughts: HEADLOCK CITY! *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP* Wow Randy liked his headlocks didn’t he? This was utterly fantastic. Since Orton joined the Wyatt’s- I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything they’ve done together. I think it just works brilliantly and now with the story of Harper leaving- it adds that extra layer. The big talking point from this match however…how incredible is Luke Harper? I already knew he was brilliant but seriously…wow. He deserves to be pushed right up the card after he finishes this feud with the Wyatt’s and this match was certainly a showcase for that. While it started off slow- it picked up massively. The spot with the double super kicks that nearly put Orton away made me jump as he kicked out and the crowd finally woke up for the two competitors. While the grade may seem unusually high- seriously watch the match. I honestly think it’s deserved as these two put on a show for our entertainment.

Alexa Bliss vs Naomi for the Smackdown Woman’s Title

Result: Naomi wins via pinfall after hitting a split leg moonsault- New Champion Crowned

Grade: B

Thoughts: Honestly didn’t see this result coming. I personally feel Alexa should have held onto the title for longer as she’s one of the best woman’s wrestlers in the entire company but Naomi definitely deserves it. One of the most underrated women in the WWE for years now- it is admittedly great to see her finally win the big one, especially with the knowledge that she’ll be going into her home town as champ at Wrestlemania in a couple of months. The match itself was the quality you’d expect from these two athletes with admittedly a couple of botches but nothing terrible. It’s going to be interesting to see where Alexa goes from here- potentially a feud with Mickie James? We’ll have to tune in on Tuesday night to find out. Overall, the three woman’s matches were great. Two excellent matches sat either side of something awful so it’s hard to focus on the negatives too much. Congrats again to the new Woman’s Champion.

WWE Title Match inside the Elimination Chamber – Wyatt vs Styles vs Miz vs Corbin vs Ambrose vs Cena

Result:

Grade: A+

Thoughts: BRAY WYATT HAS WON THE WWE TITLE. Sorry, I’ll calm down. First of all, the chills I had during and after Bray Wyatt’s entrance were incredible. He looked like a star that deserved the title. Overall- this was the best Chamber match in recent memory. Everyone looked fantastic and all the stories during it was brilliant; AJ and Cena being the first two, The Miz being too scared to come into the match, Corbin destroying Ambrose after he was eliminated, Wyatt getting redemption for Wrestlemania 30 by eliminating Cena and then finally winning the entire damn thing. Just an absolutely fantastic match from top to bottom but…he’s done it. This is going to be a bit rambly but the best goddamn character and talker currently in WWE has FINALLY won the big one. With all the sh**, with all the awful feuds where he was all talk and no substance. When he was fodder for 90% of the roster and then…tonight happened. I am sitting here honestly feeling slightly emotional- after listening for years hearing Windham Rotunda discuss how he felt his career was going, all the work he has put in, it’s finally happened. Again though- I am taking nothing away from literally every other performer involved. But well done Bray. You’ve got your whole world in your hands and everyone must now follow the buzzards.
