Charlotte Flair was the winner of the women’s Royal Rumble match on Sunday night. She last-eliminated Shayna Baszler to pick up the victory. Charlotte’s win came with a mixed reaction on social media. Many fans aren’t thrilled with potentially seeing Charlotte vs Becky Lynch or Charlotte or Bayley because we have seen both of those matches a lot in the past.
We have an interesting rumor to pass your way about the plans for Charlotte after her win.
John Pollock of POST Wrestling reports that Charlotte is not going to be facing either Becky or Bayley at Wrestlemania 36. Here is what he wrote:
**Regarding Charlotte Flair, as of today she is not challenging either Becky Lynch or Bayley at WrestleMania. She is currently scheduled for another singles match.
UPDATE: On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer corroborated the reports that Charlotte Flair won’t be facing Becky or Bayley at Wrestlemania 36. Meltzer also says the current plan is Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley at the event.
My Take:
- Charlotte vs Rhea for the NXT Championship would be amazing. That is a match that I would MUCH rather see than Charlotte vs Becky or Charlotte vs Bayley. Plus, it would really put over NXT since a Royal Rumble Champion is using their win to challenge for the main Title of the brand.
